Dr. Tomás Martín is specialized  on  the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries related to instrumental practice for more than 25 years.

 

He has been a professor of the music area in the University Expert Course in  Medicine  applied to the Performing Arts: Dance, Flamenco Dance and Music at the International University of Andalusia (Málaga ),  professor in the summer courses of the University

International of Andalusia (Campus de la Rábida), professor in the Master's Degree in Music Interpretation  at the Conservatorio Superior de Castilla y León and  advisor-reviewer for the Journal of Sport and  Health Research .

 

He collaborates with the occupational risk prevention service in the conservatories of the Basque Country, the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia and the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra.  Research in the field  of injuries caused by  Repetitive movements  in soft tissues in  musicians, practicing as a therapist  specialized  in the treatment of this type  of pathologies, helping the musician  in your process  recovery and  awareness. PAMA member  ( Performing Arts  Medicine Association ).

 
 

He is currently Assistant Timbal Soloist in the Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra, Professor of Percussion and Professor of Ergonomics and  Prevention of Musculoskeletal Injuries at the Superior Conservatory of  Music of Castilla  and Leon.

 
I regularly participate in courses and seminars on the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries, collaborating with teacher training centers, conservatories, universities and symphony orchestras in Spain,
  Colombia, Austria, Bolivia and Peru. In the summer of 2009 he was the director of the course on Injury Prevention in musicians organized by The Foundation  Universities of Castilla y León. He has collaborated as an Osteopath in the EUYO ( European Union Youth  Orchestra ) during Summer Tour in 2017.


Musician trained in Madrid and Amsterdam, extraordinary end of degree award at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid in 1993. He is in possession of the  Titles of Superior Professor of Percussion, Doctor from the University of Valladolid, Diploma in Articular Osteopathy and Therapeutic Massage.
